Healthy Cooking Group

Healthy Cooking groups are held fortnightly at Winnunga, and run by the Winnunga Healthy Lifestyle Worker and the dietician (nutrition worker).

We offer a range of different classes to meet the needs of different people in the community. For example, cooking classes for Elders, for women, cooking on a budget, and for children.

It is important to know how to cook healthy food to help stop the high rate of chronic disease amongst the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. Poor nutrition is a risk factor that we can help overcome with education and support.
