Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service provides a holistic services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community which focus on an individual as a whole person. The service’s holistic approach to health care means that its services cross over and relate to each other. The operations of the service require a team approach, recognising a whole of life focus in relation to Aboriginal health.

• General medical practice and specialist services

• Full time medical director, psychiatrist, psychologist, and sessional doctors

• Drug and alcohol, substance misuse, family violence and general social and emotional well-being services

• Stolen generation counselling

• Outreach services to Goulburn Gaol, Belconnen Remand Centre and Qamby Juvenile justice centre

• Community midwife program offering pre-natal, post natal and positive parenting programs

• Early childhood programs to provide the basis for good mental health and well-being

• Specific youth, men’s, women’s and children’s health programs

• General health services team offering support to the community in a range of areas, including counselling, transport, advocacy and referral
