    SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING TEAM

    Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service employs four Social and Emotional Well-being Counsellors under the Bring Them Home Program:

    • two male and 

    • two female counsellors and

    • a Psychiatrists and a general practitioner specialising in cognitive therapy part-time.

    What does the Social and Emotional Well- Being Team Do?

    The Social and Emotional Well-being (SEWB) team provides 

    • support and counselling for social and emotional issues

    • advocacy

    • referral to appropriate agencies

    • community education

    • support groups

    What Will Happen When You See A Member Of The Social and Emotional Well-Being Team?

    When you come to see a Social and Emotional Wellbeing counsellor they will discuss your concerns in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.

    The counsellors work with a range of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations to assist clients improve their health and wellbeing.

    How can I see a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Counsellor?

    You can see a Social and Emotional Wellbeing counsellors by ring Winnunga on 02) 6284 6222 or coming in.

    You may not be able to be seen by a worker immediately but you will be assessed and a worker will arrange to meet with you at a suitable time.

    Programs

    • Women’s Support and Art Group – Every Thursday (excluding school holidays).
